Kailua Beach Adventures - Stand-Up Paddling Lesson

Learn to stand up paddle, or SUP, at Kailua Beach, Oahu's prime watersports destination. Stand up paddling combines the thrill of surfing with the techniques of paddling. Kailua Bay offers a variety of ocean conditions, from flat water cruising to moderate chop and rolling waves. Lessons generally stick to the calmest areas to practice basic strokes and techniques.

Your stand up paddling lesson starts with paddling instruction and a brief intro class at the Kailua Beach Adventures check-in location. Next you’ll head to Kailua Beach Park where the instructor will help you launch your board and stand up. The group may then head out towards Popoia “Flat Island” and land here for a break and island tour.

Private Groups: This option is great for those who prefer individualized instruction. Learn at your pace and or focus on what you want to learn. This option is also ideal for families or for a couple that wants to share a fun experience.

Lesson Includes:

  • 2 hour lesson plus 2 hours of beach time and lunch
  • All paddling gear (board, paddles, leash, carts)
  • Lunch (deli, pizza or local lunch)
  • Dry bags and secure lockers
  • Use of snorkeling gear
  • Free beach parking
