34th Annual Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival

This annual festival is a great way to experience real Hawaiian music and culture. Not only will you hear some of the best music that the island has to offer, you won’t have to pay a penny to get in!

In 2016, you’ll hear from a full lineup of professional guitarists playing this unique, one-finger picked style. It’s family-friendly, relaxed, and fun.

This year’s festival will take place at the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort on Sunday, August 14th, from 12 noon to 6 pm.

Art on the Zoo Fence

Every weekend at the Honolulu Zoo, local artists put their best work on display. The art is posted on the south end of the zoo, from 9 am until 4 pm.

This Oahu event gives you a great opportunity to see some great work by local artists - and if you see something you like, you can always add it to your collection of souvenirs.

First Fridays

If you want to check out even more art in Honolulu, make sure you’re in town on the first Friday of each month.

From 5 pm to 9 pm in Chinatown, you can stroll through this famous district and see art on display at galleries, restaurants, and other participating storefronts.

Expect to see live entertainment, lots of local artists, and make sure to save room for some great food.

6th Annual Western Union Ohana Cup 2016 Rugby League Festival

Sports fans should purchase tickets ahead of time for this event...if it’s not already sold out!

At this year’s annual festival - a 2-day extravaganza that kicks off with a pre-game concert and lots of food vendors - you’ll get to watch youth rugby, plus matches between:

  1. NSW Police and the Hawaii Chiefs
  2. Fiji and Canada
  3. Samoa and Tonga

The event takes place on August 19th and 20th at the Aloha Stadium.

22nd Annual Made in Hawaii Festival

This massive festival is the perfect place to find anything and everything made in Hawaii.

You’ll discover books, clothing, jewelry, art, crafts, food, and much more. Over 400 vendors will participate, giving you plenty of choices if you want to find that perfect souvenir, gift, or take-home memorabilia.

This year’s event takes place from August 19th to Augst 21st.
