It is herein Haleiwa that you will find surfers dining in at the restaurants in the plantation era buildings, before they hit up the famous beachs of Waimea Bay, Sunset Beach, and Ehukai (the Banzai Pipeline). Locals and visitors like to shop here in Haleiwa, along with eating at the restaurants, winding down after a day in the sun. The people of the North Shore like hanging out in Haleiwa because it is a far cry from the excitement that takes place in Waikiki.
