Visit Oahu’s Polynesian Cultural Center

Located on the North Shore of Oahu in the tiny town of La’ie, the Polynesian Cultural Center is a voyage through the discovery of Hawaii, as told through the islands of the Polynesia, and an educational experience that is filled with fun activities, games, storytelling, and a luau that you won't want to miss.

Founded in 1963, the park is one of the most visited destinations on Oahu. In addition to providing entertainment throughout the year, the park hosts the annual World Fire-Kinfe Championship each May, bringing together the top competitors from around the world in a thrilling competition.

Within the park are the 8 villages of Polynesia, each with it’s own story to tell, featured activity and cultural learning experience. From the island of Hawaii to the island of Aoteaora, each village is an experience that showcases the unique culture of Polynesia.

Island Villages at the Polynesian Cultural Center:

  • Hawaii
  • Samoa
  • Aotearoa
  • Fiji
  • Tahiti
  • Tonga
  • Marquesas Islands

The highlight of a day at the Polynesian Cultural Center is the evening luau and night show, telling the story of a boy’s journey through life. The show features fantastic storytelling, music, dancing, and the always exciting fire-knife dance. You will be on the edge of your seat while performers show off their skill with flaming knives with ease, bringing to an end your day at the Polynesian Cultural Center.

The luau that precedes the show is among the best on the entire island of Oahu, featuring a feast of island favorites and local delicacies that will have our returning to the buffet for seconds. Featuring favorites including Poke, Lomi Lomi Salmon, Poi and tropical desserts, you will also find vegetarian and gluten free choices on the buffet line.

Packages for your luau are available 6 days a week, and transportation from Waikiki hotels is available, for your convenience. No matter which Polynesian Cultural Center Luau, you get the added bonus of visiting the island villages for a day of exploration and cultural activities. Admission to the park also includes the presentation at the IMAX Theater and the option to enjoy a canoe ride through the entire park. And as an added bonus, the Ambassador and Super Ambassador Packages include a behind the scenes tour of the Ha: Breath of Life evening show, plus seating for the show.
