When you’re not out on a fun adventure, sightseeing, attending an authentic luau, or snorkeling at one of the island’s best snorkel sites, we’ll likely find you on the beach. Hawaii’s beaches are downright amazing, with stunning surroundings, soft sand, crystal clear water, and is the perfect place to catch a little rest and relaxation. There are beaches all over the Oahu, some easier to find than others, and all showing off just how beautiful Hawaii’s beaches are. Oahu beaches are among the most visited, most photographed, and most well-known in Hawaii, and when you get out of the most famous Oahu beach, Waikiki Beach, you will find some of the best beaches you will ever visit.
Waimanalo Beach
This Oahu beach might be the best of the best. Though it can be quite windy, Waimanalo’s surroundings and natural beauty make this the place to spend a day. Backed by towering Ironwood Trees, Waimanalo features soft sand, warm water, amenities, and a great view of nearby Rabbit Island. Enjoy a day here during your visit and you’ll instantly have a new favorite beach.
Waimea Bay
Outside of Waikiki Beach, this might be the most well-known beach on Oahu. The site where the biggest waves on the island are found, Waimea Bay is also a great place to sit on the beach. A small parking lot and restrooms are included with a visit to Waimea, and we’re sure you’ll be jumping off the big rock in no time. If the waves are up, stay out of the water. But, if you’re visiting when the waters are calm, you’ll be able to enjoy a refreshing swim and a great place to play in the water.
Ala Moana Beach
Not far from Waikiki, right across the street from the Ala Moana Center, is Ala Moana Beach and Beach Park. A great place to take kids, the beach is a protected cove that is a great place for playing in the water or stand-up paddle. There is a man-made island called Magic Island just off the beach, and you’ll find walking paths and man made coves on the island.
Lanikai Beach
Perhaps one of the best beaches in the world, Lanikai Beach has been used in countless advertisements, not just for Hawaii. Two offshore islands, known as the Mokes, are synonymous with the area, and are an iconic landmark. Nearby Kailua Beach is another one of the best beaches in Hawaii, and both of these beaches are found in neighborhoods, so please be respectful when visiting.
Sunset Beach
Take a wild guess where this beach got its name. Clearly, this is a place to end your day, so grab something to eat and drink, throw down a towel, and watch the sun drop below the horizon.
