Hawaii Inspired Cocktails - Hawaii Discount

What is more relaxing than arriving to Hawaii, and sitting down with a refreshing cocktail? The warm air, stunning ocean, and a cold drink make for the start of a relaxing trip, and you’re sure to find a great spot to enjoy a drink that overlooks the ocean, making for a perfect stop during your trip.

Though Hawaii may not be responsible for the origins of many drinks, there are quite a few that are synonymous with the islands, and many are made with liquor that is produced right here in Hawaii. Be sure to ask for a locally made rum when ordering and enjoy these great drinks during your trip.

Mai Tai
Thought this drink was not created here, it is definitely associated with Hawaii, and one of the most popular drinks around. A rum based cocktail, the fruit juices that are used, along with the wonderful colors of dark rum and grenadine, make for a picture perfect and tasty drink.
Recipe:
1 ½ oz white rum
2 oz orange juice
2 oz pineapple juice
1 tsp grenadine syrup
½ oz dark rum (float on top)

Blue Hawaii
Now where could this drink have taken its name from?

The Blue Hawaii was invented by a local bartender at the Hilton Hawaiian Village along Waikiki Beach way back in the 1950’s, and its popularity has maintained throughout the years. Though there are a few different variations, the authentic recipe is very simple and a nice way to cap a day at the beach. If you’re on Oahu, head down to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and order a Blue Hawaii at the place the drink was invented.
Recipe
1 ½ oz coconut rum
2 oz pineapple juice
1 oz Blue Curacao

Lava Flow
Frozen drinks are quite popular and the Lava Flow is a site to behold. It’s actually quite amazing to see one of these walked through a restaurant and heads turn at the beauty of it. And since Hawaii is rife with volcanos, this is a very fitting drink.
Recipe:
1 oz light rum
1 oz coconut rum
2 oz pineapple juice
2 oz Pina Colada mix
Combine in a blender
In glass, pour 1 1/2 oz strawberry puree.
Pour drink mix into glass slowly, spreading the strawberry puree throughout
