One of the biggest challenges when traveling is fitting everything into your trip. Our vacations are always too short, and we always need just one more day to enjoy ourselves. Starting out with the list of “things to do” is the easy part, and once the trip begins and we start working out the logistics, we are quick to realize that some things are just not going to make the cut. Whether it’s due to a lack of time, or distance, there is bound to be something that you don’t get to do or see. But, with the help of Hawaii Discount, we can give you an insider’s guide to making many quick stops during your time here, helping to ensure everything fits into your trip.
Many of these stops are made during an island sightseeing tour, but if you choose to visit them on your own, you can easily fit them in.
Quick stops around Oahu:
Dole Pineapple Plantation
Located on the way to the North Shore, the Dole Pineapple Plantation is a great attraction for all ages, though the kids always seem to enjoy this. There are many interesting things to see here, and so many tasty treats, in addition to the outdoor maze, train ride, and fields of pineapples.
North Shore Beaches
Once you’ve laid eyes on the North Shore, it’ll be tough to leave. The entire stretch of island is one of the best places in Hawaii. Head up north and spend a bit of time at each of the beaches that are famous for giant winter waves and amazing days of fun in the sun. If you are heading around the island, stop at each, take in the beauty, and head to the next. You can see so many amazing beaches in a short period of time, then return during one of your designated beach days.
Scenic Lookout Points
Really, there are too may scenic lookouts to list and they are found all over the island. If you see one, don’t be afraid to pull over and enjoy the view. If you do it right, you can see many of them in one day, including La’ie Point, Makapu’u Lookouts, Pali Lookout, and Halona Blowhole Lookout.
Downtown Honolulu
Downtown Honolulu is a bustling city, and you could spend a great deal of time here. Stop along King St. and check out the following: Iolani Palace, Ali’iolani Hale, King Kamehameha the Great Statue, and Kawaihao Church, before continuing on the National Cemetery of the Pacific inside Punchbowl Crater. From the crater, you will have unmatched views of Oahu.
